LUDOTEK proposes a set of materials which allow a critical exploration of the recreational activity of the contemporary individual. We work in urban surroundings. LUDOTEK works in the street, because life in the street is the base of human sociability. We believe that art is a shared (dis)organisation among objects, images and people, and therefore LUDOTEK is a lab of living forms which incorporates discourses and practises from a variety of disciplines, such as architecture, philosophy, music or drama.
LUDOTEK does not produce material or immaterial objects. LUDOTEK's work must always be understood as a platform for the development of critical discourses, and always from a ludic, recreational and socio-organisational standpoint. In this sense, LUDOTEK does not produce images for consumption. The projects we propose are video essays, ludogrammes, testimonial documents, little exercises in criticism which consider a number of different relational problems. What we take into consideration in play, and in recreation, is their productive performance as an operator in the basic realities of the space and time of life, the production of symbolic capital, immanent action, the capacity to produce worlds and autonomous places which simultaneously dissent from contemporary forms of control. This is why we believe that play is a job. We don't want to play, we want to work. Maybe there should be a play trade union. To organise the workers of the symbolic and the real in order to generate a new wealth, emancipated from the tyranny of consumption, one that can apprehend the present and resist acceleration, that can be capable of generating immanent and dialogical situations. A new wealth capable of allowing a referential autonomy, of allowing the real construction of the real life through a relational re-positioning of individuals and their world.
