Psychogeographic Puericulture is a project dealing with the proposal to trail the activity and life of the homo ludens who inhabits our cities. The Project focuses on the elaboration of a psychogeographic map with a research of the sym+bolic activity an the dia/bolic activity of the children (temporary autochthonous , on the other side it exists a childhood temporary non autochthonous , typical of its outspread childhood into the adult sphere) who inhabit the contemporary city. Their ludic activity involve the construction of ephemeral links systems between the nature in which they are immersed and the life that they are playing with. Children are able to build symbolic universes around themselves. This wandering and psychogeographic dérive of a child can raise and suspend him from the very ground. From the ground of one's own . This weithgless disposition turns them specially fragile on this time in which signs and spectacles explote above our heads as cathodic artificial fireworks. This map will reflect the symbolic construction of a cloud made of reivindique-claiming activities, and its opposite, the destructive and egoiste cloud. On the framework of the ludic action it consist of an exploration of a direct operation on time and space, and doubtless also with the “real” space on which we bring them to play .The construction of this map impliques the observation of the children dérives on each certain locations of a city, each location offers its own conditions and children operate on different ways depending on which atmospheres they experiment with life. Not a taxonomy but a decriptation of codes.This project proposes filmation / registration as a technic of inmersion into these codes, so as these films build a visual essay document which constitute further more than the prove but a reintegration of the ephemeral experience into a public and shared space. This dérive turns into political action when transferring this dymension beyond this autochthonous time because the activity of certain children can signify from the most radical and symbolic subversion. The empowerment of time and space is on certain circumstances a dangerous complex polytical practise. As dangerous and complex as the life they are playing with. Because life is their favourite toy. With the configuration of the map it will be necessary a lecture that interpretes the possible raise /suspensión of the ludic-ephemeral activity cloud ,headed on the urban scenario ,as far as the signic load mounts (it is often the adults who introduce this signic load into childhood) . The definite prove will be to observe if this ground of ourselves dissapears below our feet, leaving place to a moribund and dying spectacle where the childhood is a permanent supernever (refered as an opposite to the word supernow. Supernow signify the world here and now, ready to be inhabited and empowered).

This project seek to amplify the strategies of psychogeografic definition of the children's corps, with the aim of projection into an adult's plane of outspread childhood (In the conviction that certain adult's world coud be seen as an outspread childhood). Walking people will infiltrate themselves into the experiment as far as they are involved in the social corps that we allude on this psychogeographic experiment .

 

The project proposes 2 situations to seek what "homo ludens" means in Xplace

1 PHASE: filmation / registration as a technic of inmersion into ludic codes.Taking place betwwen the most different areas, from working class or immigrant quartes to wide avenues or turistic locations.

2 PHASE :The showing of a visual essay document ( a FILM ) and a MAP which constitute further more than a prove , but a reintegration of the ephemeral experience into a public and shared space.The projection of these short films will interact with the nature of the choosen scenario in the showing experience.

This second phase could take place somewhere on the street , at a corner, under a bridge ....anywhere. Or into somewhere, a gallery, an ephemeral pavillion....

 

This project has being headed in Madrid during 2005. Exploration of the ludic-sybolic activity of childhood on different space-time situations (Working class quarters,immigation areas, turistic locations, wide avenues, at night...) offered us the possibility to trace a map which reflected the spectacular densification of these activities, as far as the adults get involved into the child activity guiding or managing the situation.And the production of a fimed visual document wthin the maps constitute the corps of the research around time and space of the homo ludens in Madrid.

This project has being showed on different scenarios in madrid,on the street and in a gallery ,including the children presence as part of the global meaning, proposing a ludic experience on the projection of maps and films over some surface, such a screen or a piece of paper.No special needs on the type of stage.
